About AmateurRadioEvents.com

Whether you're a new amateur radio enthusiast or a seasoned operator, this website can help you find events that are meaningful to you in and around Northern Illinois which can help you contribute and stay connected to the amateur radio community.

Previously, a 1-page calendar was routinely updated and circulated to provide details of area hamfests and public service events when up-to-date, detailed information could not be found. It quickly became outdated and had to be updated often. That changed on March 4, 2025 when AmateurRadioEvents.com was launched to provide those details and more all in one place!

Within a few months, Scouts on the Air was launched which partners with operators and clubs to give life-long memories to youth and their families. Scout troops are ‘activated’ on local repeaters, DMR, HF, and CW while exploring beacon hunting and emergency communications activities. Soon the site expanded even further to include events involving fox hunts, testing, education, and more.

Please come back often to support the site and find updates. Also, consider joining our email list (see below) to be among the first to hear about upcoming events and opportunities in the Midwest.

Also, watch for the site to continue to expand to include more information on area clubs, organizations, and events. Your ideas, information, and updates are always welcome.
